Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support

Type II diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and in 2013 it was identified as one of the top seven causes of death of Beaufort County residents.

Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) was created to help those living with type II diabetes better manage their lifestyle and habits, through education and management strategies.

The program includes individual and group sessions. Throughout the program you will learn about: self-care behaviors, eating smart, meal planning, monitoring blood sugar levels, medication, and much more!
